Helping people and organizations build stability under sustained pressure
I am Michelle Spear, CD, NBC-HWC, DTM, creator of the REGAL Stability Method™. My work brings together 36 years of public-sector experience, leadership and governance, adult education, coaching, and lived experience with chronic illness and pain. Across these different environments, I have seen capable, committed people do everything they were told to do: work harder, become more resilient, improve their time management, and find better ways to cope. Yet many remained overwhelmed. The problem was not a lack of effort. It was that most approaches were designed for temporary periods of stress, while many people and organizations were operating under pressure that had become constant. That realization led me to develop REGAL.

Why I created the REGAL Method™
When pressure continues long enough, it begins to affect more than individual wellbeing.
It affects:
It affects:
- how people think
- how priorities are established
- how decisions are made
- how capacity is used
Telling people to become more resilient may help them endure difficult conditions for a time. It does not necessarily address the instability those conditions are creating.
I wanted to develop a practical framework that could help people understand what was happening, determine what genuinely required attention, and build greater stability within circumstances that could not immediately be changed.
- how teams communicate
- how systems function
- how consistently people can perform
The result was the REGAL Method:
Recognize what is creating pressure
Evaluate what genuinely requires attention
Ground decisions in priorities and realistic capacity
Architect systems that reduce friction and support consistency
Learn from experience and adapt over time
REGAL is used to support clarity, decision-making, and performance in high-demand environments.
Experience behind the framework
Public-sector experience
My 36 years in the public sector gave me direct experience with complex systems, competing priorities, accountability, organizational change, and the realities of working within limited resources and capacity.
That experience shapes REGAL’s practical approach to organizational pressure.
Leadership and governance
My leadership and governance work—including serving as Chair of the Nisbet Lodge–McClintock Manor Foundation Board—has deepened my understanding of the responsibility involved in guiding organizations, making difficult decisions, and protecting what matters under demanding conditions.
My time serving in the Canadian Forces provide valuable training in both leadership and building systems. Education and facilitation My background in adult education informs the way REGAL is taught.
My background in teaching children and youth has given me a unique perspective in problem solving. Workshops are designed to help participants understand the framework, connect it to their own circumstances, and apply it to real pressures—not simply listen to a presentation. Coaching As a National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach, I work collaboratively with individuals to help them clarify priorities, make decisions, and create practical structures that reflect their goals and capacity. Lived experience Living with chronic illness and pain has also shaped my understanding of pressure. It has taught me that capacity is not always predictable, that useful systems must work on difficult days, and that stability cannot depend on perfect circumstances. REGAL draws from both professional experience and the practical realities of navigating sustained pressure.

How I approach this work
See the situation clearly
reduce unnecessary friction
identify what matters most
create systems that provide stronger support
make decisions within actual capacity
learn and adjust as circumstances change
I do not believe people should be expected to absorb unlimited pressure through greater personal effort.
I also do not believe every source of pressure can simply be removed.
My work focuses on the space between those two realities.
That means helping people and organizations:
The goal is not perfection.
The goal is greater clarity, steadiness, and effectiveness within real conditions.
